How does the Bible instruct us to handle sexual abuse? Is this a topic that we should be approaching Biblically? In this workshop we will examine the stories of Tamar and Dinah, 2 women who were sexaully assaulted and study how the responses to their assaults impacted those close to them. We will also look at the Biblical mandates concerning sexual assaults and how that compared to the responses to Tamar and Dinah. Finally, we draw application to the responses in the Bible to the collective trauma we see in society today and discuss trauma-informed interventions for individuals and families.
